Compliance & Advisory FAQ

AML Guard is a software platform that helps Australian property professionals run their AML/CTF compliance program. This page sets out plainly what that does and does not include, so you always know where the platform stops and your own advisers begin.

Does AML Guard provide compliance advice?

No. AML Guard is a software platform that helps Australian real estate agencies, conveyancers, and property developers operationalise their AML/CTF compliance program. We don't interpret regulations for your specific situation, recommend a course of action on a specific case, or replace a suitably qualified AML/CTF adviser.

What does AML Guard do?

What may you need from somewhere else?

Can AML Guard tell me whether a specific customer, match, or transaction is suspicious?

No. AML Guard can help you use the workflow and understand what the platform is showing you, but judgment on a specific case sits with your designated compliance officer and, where needed, your own legal or AML/CTF adviser.

Where can I learn about AML/CTF requirements?

AUSTRAC publishes extensive sector-specific guidance free at austrac.gov.au, including a dedicated real estate hub. We strongly encourage every reporting entity to read AUSTRAC's published material directly, since the source carries the authority.

Where can I get help using AML Guard?

For product help, email [email protected]. Our Insights articles cover AML/CTF topics for property professionals, anchored to AUSTRAC's published guidance. Help articles covering how to use the platform, with cost-management guidance and indexed AUSTRAC references, are available inside the platform and growing from launch.
